Indications to application

Convulsive syndrome at an eklampsiya and a heavy preeklampsiya, tetanus a uterus, an urination delay, lead colic, a gipomagniyemiya, including at the patients receiving only parenteral food, hypertensive crisis, the epileptic status, poisoning with mercury, arsenic, tetraethyllead (as a part of complex therapy).

Method of application and dosage

Preeklampsiya and eklampsiya: the dose is established individually, depending on a clinical situation. A dose of saturation of 2 — 4 g in 5 — 20 min. intravenous infusion. The supporting dose of 1 — 2 g an hour.

Tetaniya of a uterus: a dose of saturation of 4 g in 20 min. infusion. The supporting dose - at first 1 — 2 g an hour, after 1 g an hour (it is possible to enter kapelno 24 — 72 hours).

Gipomagniyemiya: easy — a daily dose of 1 - 2 g intramuscularly. This dose is entered in one stage or for 2 — 3 times. To change places of introduction. Heavy — an initial dose of 5 g intravenously (slowly!) in 1 l of infusion solution. Further dose depending on concentration of magnesium in blood serum.

Prevention of a gipomagniyemiya at the patients receiving only parenteral food: if in nutritious solutions there is no magnesium, it

add in addition. A daily dose of 1,5 — 4 g, usually in 1 l of solution for parenteral food add 1 g of magnesium of sulfate.

Hypertensive crisis: 2 — 4 g intramuscularly or intravenously (slowly!).

Lead colic or sharp delay of an urination: 0,5 g intramuscularly or intravenously.

Epileptic status, poisonings with mercury, arsenic or tetraethyllead: 0,5 — 1,0 g intravenously.

Before a repeated injection of magnesium of sulfate it is necessary to check a knee reflex. If the reflex disappeared, it is impossible to inject a drug!

The highest daily dose of magnesium of sulfate adult — 40 g at normal function of kidneys. At heavy dysfunction of kidneys — no more than 20 g in 48 hours.

Notes:

Doses of magnesium of sulfate are specified in grams. To them there corresponds the amount of solution: 1 g - 4 ml (25%), 8 ml (25%), 3 g - 12 ml (25%), 10 g — 40 ml (25%), 15 g - 60 ml (25%), 20 g — 80 ml (25%), 30 g - 120 ml (25%), 40 g - 160 ml (25%).

Sulfate magnesium solution in ampoules is diluted with injection solutions: 0,9% of sodium of chloride or 5% of glucose (dextrose).
